2009 Annual Herd Sire Performance Sale
April 22nd, 2009 - 7 o’clock PM
The sale will be held at the Tripp Livestock Salebarn, Tripp, SD
We raise registered Angus bulls and heifers.
Black Ink Farms has been raising registered Black Angus cattle for over 35 years. Our philosophy has been to raise cattle for the smaller farmers in the community that will help them raise profitable calves in their herds.
We have kept with a couple exceptions, a closed herd by keeping our own heifers through the years. We have tried to keep the herd cows in the average size range. They are wintered on cornstalks and feed that we raise. The next generation is taking over the operation and has all the cattle records on the computer from early on cows.
We use artificial insemination on about a third of the 225 cow herd before they go to pasture. Our sale offers the top bulls and the second cut of heifers after we have selected the ones to retain in the herd.
Visitors are welcome year round!
2008 Sale Recap
The sale was held at the Tripp Livestock Salebarn, Tripp, SD on April 23rd, 2008 at 7 o'clock pm. Thanks to everyone who attended. Our yearling Angus bulls averaged $2,000 and our heifers did very well averaging $1,000. Our top seller was lot 934, son of 4 Point 8 of Ironwood. He sold for $3,300.
